Lovely site to meet friends to exchange ideas and/or opinions. It also brings the world closer to home. I love travel and have natural curiousity about people and how/where they live.
I live in a flat landlocked country with long winters and short summers. It can be very beautiful here, but I love the sea. The site expands my world when my pen pals tell me about their countries. It's not like watching National Geographic. I feel like I've been to the mountains or the sea.
Around a year or two ago, I met a girl from France on this site and we chatted online for a while, realising we had lots in common and that it was really fun to chat about differences in Scottish and French culture, music, food, school etc. We sent each other physical mail and i still have the pictures she sent and the zine she made me up on my wall. We now text and voice message every couple weeks!!! So glad I used globalpenfriends!!!
I met a few good friends from different countries, I met a few of them when I went to overseas. it's a good way to learn another culture and broader our knowledge. I wish I could put the picture when I told them my story.

Great website with lots of features, but you need to pay for extra things which such as seeing who viewed you seeing when they where last on the website messaging a certain amount of times.

I wish I could delete the conversations of people who don't respond anymore (rather than waiting until the system says they are stale) but other than that its a good site.
