A city called Hongkong

I was born and brought up in Hongkong, a rather small place which had been a British-occupied territory for over 150 years. I have been lucky enough to witness the growth of Hongkong into a major cosmopolitan and its reunification with China. Changes in Hongkong over these years have been great and substantial, requiring a great deal of efforts for the people of Hongkong to adjust and gradually come in terms with it. The year 1997 marked the rebirth of Hongkong and the start of a new era for her to strive to settle into a new role under China. It has been a painstaking process still in progress.
