Our 6 months on Bruny Island.

Our family spent 6 months living on Bruny Island. A tiny Island accessible by Ferry. We lived in a farm house built in the 1800’s by the “Then” Governor of Bruny Island. We assisted in the growing and management of an 80 acre Organic Apple orchard. Aside from caring for apples and blueberries, we explored beautiful beaches by day, got to know the friendly and quirky locals and learnt what it meant to be isolated on a small but beautiful island. While we chose to come back to the mainland of Tasmania, we still think of life on Bruny every day in a way that only warms our hearts and leaves us longing for deserted beaches where the white ocean sand sretches for miles and the blue water travels as far as the eye can see. It was so wonderful. We fell in love with the history of the island and the peace and beauty of the surrounding natural landscape.
