Nikolaus

On the night to/of the 6th of December (depends on the region) children put a boot outside next to the entrance door. Nikolaus comes and fills candy in the shoes of the nice kids, the ones that behaved badly get "beaten up" by Nikolaus' company Knecht Ruprecht. But I can tell you, somehow no child ever gets beaten up.
