Maslenitsa traditional event

In Russia we have Maslenitsa - a traditional event. It is held at the end of winter to selebrate the beginning of spring. On Maslenitsa we make blini - a traditional meal, similar to pancakes or crepes. People go outside, dance and have fun. There is also a special ritual - burning a doll that embodies the winter.
