El Pendón

This custom took root in Mexican traditions but with a different meaning. In Chilpancingo "the banner ride" takes place a week before December 24, thus starting the fair of San Mateo, Christmas and New Year. It is a party full of color where the banner is carried by a young woman dressed in a charro suit riding a horse, the companion another young woman carrying the Chilpancingo shield that carries a puja and the jars symbolizing the party of each December. Of the 5 important neighborhoods they reach dancers, public figures, charros and local bands to liven up the party. The dances of the "tlaconeros" are the main element of the parade, the dance of the devils, the fishermen, the mute and the Chilean jump are performed throughout the parade which carries the following order: first the patrol, sound, Burrita carrying chestnuts with mezcal, the banner of the banner, the Chilpancingo shield, wind music, traditional blanket and the last Miss Flor de Nochebuena. This party reflects the wonderful traditions that still live in the state of Guerrero. Come and know them yourself.
