The Canadian Rockies

The Canadian Rocky Mountains are a mountain range that runs in the Western part of Canada from Northern British Columbia, to the Southern tip of Alberta. The highest peak in the Canadian Rockies is Mount Robson at 12,972 feet. Some of the most popular attractions are the Columbia Icefield (glacier), Banff, Lake Louise, Canmore, the Glacier sky walk in Jasper, as well as the numerous lakes, rivers and other mountain activities. I am lucky enough to live in Province of Alberta, only 106 km from my home town of Calgary. It is possible to head out first thing in the morning, have a beautiful brunch at the Banff Springs Hotel, go for a hike, snowshoe, kayak, boat tour, ski, dog sled or gondola ride and still make it home for supper! Many outdoor enthusiasts are drawn to Calgary for easy access to winter and summer activities.
