Pastel Making

This tradition has been happening since I can remember, we do this in December. Usually we wake up at 5am to meet with my family and go to the “Tren Urbano” and go to “La plaza del mercado” of Rio Piedra to purchase the ingredients. Then we go to a family members house to cook at 6 or 7 am and eat them later on. I usually help make them with my tia abuela or great aunt in english. I prefer when the pasteles are made with chicken because I don’t eat mammals because I made a bet and now I don’t like it anymore. Anyway we dance, talk about everything and leave between 7 and 9 pm.
