Midsommar national holiday

Midsommar (Midsummer) is a national holiday that celebrates the summer solstice and always occurs on a Friday between the 20th and 26th of June. On Midsommar we dance around the Midsommarstång (Midsummer pole) like little frogs, eat herring and drink schnapps. Many people like to wear traditional swedish costumes in bright colours and if you are a bit superstitious it is said that if you gather seven different flowers and put them under your pillow before bedtime, you will dream about the person you will marry.
