American sports
Some thing you need to be United States is our love for sports and not just professional sports. We have a very strong sense of pride in our Alma Motter, both high school and college. This means that nearly the whole school and a lot of the town come to sports events regularly at the high school level and even more at the college level. Sports teams can become like second families to players and bonds made in these sports can be very strong. I personally took part in dance team, color guard team, and track. This was just at the high school level as I experimented with other various sports before that. Sports are so important that many high school athletes are excused from their classes early or get out of class altogether for games, meets, and practices. If an athlete is good enough then they get a scholarship to college which means they pay little to no money for an expensive education. They often get special treatment in college as well, such as free food, free housing, free practice clothing, and free gear for their sport.
