This is how we celebrate christmas. It starts on the first December with the Adventskalender. Until the 24th you get a small present every day. On the evening of the 5th we hang socks/put boots outside for the Nikolaus to fill. He also comes on the evening of the 6th, tell you ehat you have been doing wrong and then you get another present after promising to change. On the 24th your christmas tree is either already decorated or you do it in the morning. Around lunchtime the room where the tree is gets locked. Around dinnertime most people visit the church. When you come home you eat dinner and stuff. Usually after some time you hear a bell ring. Then the door gets unlocked and everybody steps into the room. Then all together the song Oh Tannenbaum is sung and then presents get opened. During the whole December you bakr cookies and visit Chrismas markets.
