Adelaide Fringe Festival

The Adelaide Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere. Every year, for four weeks between February and March, the city of Adelaide plays host to artists, musicians, theatre, cabaret, comedy, circus, dance, film, theatre, music, visual art and design from all over the world. Events range in size from small to large and many of them are free to attend. The opening night of the Fringe Festival is a parade through the streets of the city center, ending in the East Parklands. There are over 1000 events, 4000 performers and artists and over two million visitors. For a city with a population of just over one million, the Fringe really does explode in colour, light, sound and creativity and is a place of joy and expression for everyone.
