Prom, an American Tradition

Prom is traditionally an American thing. It was the only thing I could think of that was a mainly American thing. High schoolers dress to the nines and basically humiliate themselves by dancing and kissing with people they will soon forget. To many it’s a joyous rite (?) of passage. To me it’s annoying occurrence where I can dress up an ungodly amount just to end up having more fun at an Applebees with my best friend and some loaded waffle fries. Benefits include getting flowers, grandiose invitations, shopping for the right clothes and going to Walmart after to enjoy yourself.
