The Schwingfestival is an event in Switzerland that takes place every 3 years. Schwingen is a national sport in Switzerland, in which two participants are on a sawdust-field and try to push their opponent into the sawdust with both shoulders on the ground. They wear their official wrestling pants in light or dark brown. The Schwingerfest is a tournament in which one winner remains at the end: the Schwingerking. He is given a bull at the award ceremony, colloquially we call one a "muni". Most of the tournament participants are actually ordinary working people who practice this sport on the side, many of them are farmers. Unfortunately, it has not yet been possible for me to be part of a Schwingfestival, but I hope I can watch the strong Schwingers at their competitions next time in 2025.
