Día de Muertos

This is a very special day in Mexican culture, filled with color an mysticism, In Día de Muertos we commemorate our dead relatives and friends, by putting their photo in an offering with flowers, typical homemade food, fruit, and sometimes even alcohol, generally the food we put in the offering is the favorite food of the person that passed away, because it is believed that they come and visit, in my case they would put tamales oaxaqueños and takis. although this might sound sad and boring it really isn’t, and the ones that have more fun are the kids, because they go door to door asking for candy and write a funny kind of poetry called calaveritas, where you can roast your teachers. In some ways it is similar to how it is portrayed in coco, but it actually is very different depending on the state. I hope you found this interesting and have a good day.
