While the Weihnachtsmarkt/ Christmasmarket is a thing all over Germany, I am going to talk about the one in my town.
My town has two Christmas markets:
One in the "Neustadt" (the newer part of our town) and one in the "Altstadt" (the older part of our town).
The second Christmas market is hosted by a voluntary association that I am a member of.
It always takes place at the weekend of the 4th advent. There is a stage for speeches and a Glühweinbude (mulled wine hut) and Bratwurstbude (Bratwurst hut). Members of the association work in both those huts and we provide more huts for smaller and local businesses. We finally managed to have a Christmas market again after two year of no Christmas market because of COVID.
Usually we have a carriage that drives you around our city but we could rent the the carriage this year.
