Exploring our Gulf Islands
I live on Vancouver Island, which is surrounded by hundreds of tiny islands we call the "Gulf Islands". These little islands are well-known for their enchanting, natural beauty, wildlife, and quaint, West-Coast style homes. They are also know for being populated by communities of artistic, sometimes eccentric and fascinating people who enjoy living "on the fringe". I like to visit my favourite islands as often as I can to explore nature and get a taste of the the slower-paced and down-to-earth gulf-island culture, which I am very drawn to. I try to visit during spring and fall and avoid peak tourist season, because people come by the many thousands to visit our little islands each summer and we prefer to have a less-busy time. I hope you enjoy the photos and maybe look up some of the islands on Google (Quadra Island, Hornby Island, Cortez Island, Salt Spring Island to name a few) to learn more about them!
