Veteran's Day

This day takes place to honor those that have served in any branch of the military (persons who have served in the armed forces in the USA). This day is now observed annually on November 11th and has changed dates over time. The holiday was originally named Armistice Day, but changed to Veteran's Day in 1918. Typically on this day, parades are held in cities, many people are thanked for their service for the armed forces, cemeteries are visited to pay respects, and families rejuvenate their appreciation for those that have served to keep their rights and freedoms protected.
