Poush Parbon

Poush parbon is a harvest festival celebrated in Bengal in the month of January. It marks the beginning of a new harvest season and all bengali households celebrate it by preparing various sweets like pithe, puli, patishapta, payesh made of fresh date jaggery, coconut, rice and milk. Most of these sweets are prepared only once at this time which makes the celebrations all the more special!
