Detroit Slow Roll

The slow roll was an annual event held in in and around the heart of Detroit each year. A massive horde of cyclists would descend on the city to "roll" around it as a huge group. Some who live in the area where it took place argued that it was an inconvenience, such as blocking their way home from work by car. The event had supporters but also critics. In recent years, the organizer seems to have moved on and the slow roll has not been held in some time. I managed to catch the last one in August of 2019. There are still other smaller cycling events held, such as Critical Mass; but these appear to not be at the same size and scale as slow roll was. Maybe that is for the better.
