Easter (Velikonoce) in Czechia

On Easter Monday men and boys will go door to door with their handmade willow whips called Pomlázka and gently whip women and girls for fertility. Women and girls paint eggs and give them to the men and boys after the whipping. The men and the boys are called Koledníci and they usually say short poem when they are whipping the women and girls. Usually the poem starts with “Hody hody doprovody”
