Kaffeeklatsch (“coffee chatter“ aka coffee & cake)

When family and/or friends come together in the afternoon to eat cake and drink coffee (or tea or cocoa). My family does this on birthdays, holidays, celebrations, special events or random Sundays without a certain occasion when we just want to spend time together. It’s not only parents and siblings, but also grandparents, aunts and cousins. It’s a firm family tradition, but also very common in whole Germany.
