Keeper of the Plains, Kansas

The Keeper of the Plains is a monumental 44-foot steel sculpture located at the confluence of the Arkansas and Little Arkansas Rivers in Wichita, Kansas. Created by Native American artist Blackbear Bosin in 1974, the sculpture represents the spiritual significance and heritage of the Plains Indian tribes. Positioned on a rock promontory and surrounded by a "Ring of Fire" that lights up at night, it serves as a powerful symbol of unity and reverence for nature and indigenous culture.
