How to celebrate easter in Styria

Celebrating easter starts on Saturday. Meat (ham and traditional sausages) is cooked also eggs are boiled and coloured. The meat, the eggs, salt and horseradish is put in a basket and covered with cross-stitch cloths and sometimes decorated with a posy. With this basked you go to church and place it around the altar. A priest will bless the easter- meat. After the blessing you go home and cut the meat into slices and pour it on a big plate and grate the horseradish. Then the whole family meet and eat together. In the evening easter- fire are lit. You go there to meet more family and friends. On Sunday morning Easter nests are being hidden for children to seek. They are filled with easter eggs, candies and chocolate.
