Danish Cinnamon tradition

We call it "give kanel", which translates to giving cinnamon. In Denmark when you turn 25 and is yet to marry, your friends and family will tie you up and shower you with cinnamon. It's such am odd tradition we don't question it. Then, when you turn 30, they will do the same bit this time with pebber. This part makes a bit more sense, since we in danish have the word "pebermø". It basically means an older unmarried lady (although 30 really isn't old) You can buy huge bags of cinnamon for just this purpose.
