Räbeliechtli-Umzug

Each year some time in October/November, people go on a so-called "Räbeliechtli-Umzug", which literally translates to turnip parade. It is a tradition in which people hollow out turnips and then carve patterns or motifs into its wall. A candle is then placed inside and the vine is hung on a stick, making it look like a pretty little lantern. These lanterns are then used to parade through the town with other people. These parades are often organized by schools or kindergartens for families with children.
