Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake is one of Taiwan's most famous and scenic tourist destinations, located in the central part of the island, in Nantou County. The lake is named for its distinctive shape—one side resembles a sun, and the other a crescent moon.Surrounded by lush mountains, it's not only a natural wonder but also a place rich in cultural and historical significance. The lake is home to the Thao people, one of Taiwan's indigenous tribes, and their traditions are an integral part of the area. Visitors can explore cultural sites like the Wenwu Temple, which offers panoramic views of the lake, or take a boat tour to enjoy the tranquil beauty from the water.
