Wassail event, Herefordshire

A wassail is an annual event that has roots in English history, particularly during winter celebrations, such as Christmas and Twelfth Night (January 5th). It takes place in the apple orchards in Herefordshire. The term "wassail" comes from the Old English phrase waes hael, meaning "be in good health," and it has evolved into a symbol of community, festivity, and good fortune.
