Mardi Gras Festivals

Mardi Gras is a celebration that marks the end of the pre-Lenten season and is often observed with parades and merrymaking. The name Mardi Gras comes from the French words "mardi" meaning Tuesday and "gras" meaning fat, and it literally translates to "Fat Tuesday". The meaning of Mardi Gras is rooted in the religious origins of the festival and the custom of eating rich foods before the Christian fasting season of Lent.More so it is now mostly a giant party for everyone to dress up in the traditional colors; Purple, Green, and gold. To celebrate life, food, family, and a good time.
