Bonfire night

remember remember the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot.bonfire night is the night every year that we celebrate Guy Fawke’s (failed) attempt to blow up parliament in 1605. since then, we have burned effigies and lit up the skies, supposedly to celebrate the fact that he was caught and punished (hanged, drawn and quartered - obviously), but mainly because it’s pretty and an excuse to make a big fire.i particularly love bonfire night because it’s the night before my birthday, so the fireworks and celebrations feel like they’re for me!
