Songkran water festival
Songkran is Thailand's vibrant and joyous New Year festival, celebrated in mid-April. Known for its massive water fights, people take to the streets with buckets, water guns, and hoses to soak each other. It's extremely fun! It's not just about fun, though—it symbolizes cleansing and renewal, as water is believed to wash away bad luck and sins. Traditional rituals include visiting temples, offering food to monks, and pouring scented water on elders' hands as a sign of respect too.
