Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has inspired ocean conservation for over forty years, built on the remains of the Hovden Cannery. Home to a wide array of incredible animal species, it has also been crucial to rebuilding the population of Southern Sea Otters, a keystone species to the kelp forests, through its surrogacy program. The mission of the aquarium is to inspire conservation of the ocean, and the beautiful exhibits of both native and foreign species, along with the gorgeous wildlife viewing station on the back deck, help to educate us on how to better sustain our environment.
