Calgary Stampede
The Calgary Stampede is held in early July every year in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is an international Rodeo, Festival, concerts and Exhibition. Rodeo competitors come from around the world for the prestige and high payout. The highlight of the Rodeo is the Chuckwagons,which is an event based loosely on everyday tasks that were performed in the Old West before it was settled. The Exhibition portion of the event brings handicrafts, art, livestock and cooking/baking together to be judged. The Festival is a huge carnival with rides, games and food vendors.Big name concerts and other types of entertainment are usually brought in for Stampede, with performers like Stevie Wonder, Shania Twain and Nickleback The Calgary Stampede brings in about 1 million visitors per season and is known as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth".
