Evil Eye (Mati)

A lot of people in Greece believe in the evil eye or the "mati", which is the notion that someone's negative energy or jealousy can affect you, causing headaches, yawning or even nausea. Some people claim to know the cure and have different methods going about it, (a certain spell, oil drops in water etc.) If one wishes to learn how to cure the "mati", they would have to spy on someone of the opposite gender and try to pick up the words. Traditional methods of protection from the evil eye include blue beads, crosses or even garlic cloves!
