Dry Falls, Washington

Picture was taken where once was one of the world largest waterfalls. Water 100 M deep flowed where the picture was taken. The falls extended out of the picture to the left and continued back in the distance; perhaps 4-5 km. The falls existed many times, but only for 1-2 weeks. During the ice age, glaciers blocked a river east of here. A large lake was formed about the size of Lake Erie or Lausanne. Many times the ice dam burst and the lake emptied in 2 weeks, eventually flowing through the Columbia River Gorge and into the Pacific Ocean. Search Lake Missoula or Dry Falls, WA.
