My favorite monument - Altare della Patria

The Altare della Patria in Rome is this massive, super-white marble monument built to honor Victor Emmanuel II, Italy’s first king, and celebrate the country’s unification. It’s right in Piazza Venezia and honestly hard to miss—it’s huge! There’s a giant statue of the king on horseback, plus the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is super meaningful. You can even take an elevator to the top for an incredible view of Rome. Locals joke it looks like a "wedding cake," but it’s definitely a must-see if you're in the city. So grand and full of history!
