My family`````s slava is St. John the Baptist (Sveti Jovan), celebrated on the January 20th. Slava is a unique Serbian Ortodox tradition where families honor their patron saint, belived to protect and quide them. St. John is higly respected as the batizer of Jesus and a symbol of faith and hymility.the celebration includes a special church service, traditional rituals like lighting a candle and cutting the slavski kolac (a ceremonial bread), and a family feast with loved ones. Its a day of gratityde, prayer, and togetherness, deeply roted in faith and cultural heritage.
