Kiel Week

The "Kieler Woche" (Kiel week) is taking place every year in my hometown Kiel. This event is all about the tradition of sailing races in the fjord of Kiel. It´s origins lie in the habit of 20 sailors, which happened to race for fun. The emperor of Germany took liking in this habbit and made it a tradition that sailors race in the last week of June. Nowadays this event is a key for sailors world wide to classify for big events and sail in world championships in Kiel.
