Matariki, star constellation

Matariki is a constellation which signals the Maori New Year, celebrated in late June or early July. Matariki was traditionally a time to remember those who have passed and to reflect on the year gone by. In 2022, Matariki was officially made a public holiday! Most Kiwis acknowledge Matariki by spending the day with friends and/or family.
