In the last 12 seconds of the year we eat 12 green grapes

I don’t know who came up with this tradition, but we always start the year choking on it!! hahaha. We watch the countdown on TV, eating a grape every second (the last 12 of the year). The first ones are fine, but by the last one, either you’ve lost count and have extras, or your mouth is completely full. Also, dressing up for New Year's Eve is always fun, no matter how fancy your outfit is. By the end of the night, you end up with a 'cotillón'—little party bags with cheap festive accessories like streamers and 'matasuegras.' (In English it translates to "mother-in-law killer" it's an air instrument usually made of plastic and for children's that has a very annoying sound) Here are some pictures of me, my cousins, and my sister eating grapes and rocking the 'cotillón'!
