17th of May

On the 17th of May 1814, the Norwegian constitution was written and signed by Norwegian noblemen in Eidsvoll. Today, this event is celebrated every 17th of May as a national holiday with parades, flags and local festivities. Unlimited amounts of ice cream, hot dogs, sour cream porridge and sparkling wine are consumed, and raining is simply not allowed on this day.
