Celebrating Midsummer
hey friends, just wanted to share how we celebrate midsummer in sweden. it's one of our most loved traditions.we usually gather in the countryside, make flower crowns, and raise a maypole decorated with leaves and flowers. then we dance around it to traditional songs, including a funny one about little frogs (yes, we actually hop like frogs).the food is classic: pickled herring, fresh potatoes with dill, sour cream, chives, and for dessert, strawberries with cream. people sing drinking songs and toast with schnapps all day long.midsummer is the heart of the swedish summer, simple, joyful, and something you have to experience to truly understand.
