Puerto Rican Neighbohood Game

When I was in elementary school and the algarroba trees dropped their hard seeds, me and other school kids would gather a handful and turn them into “gallitos", an algarroba seed with a tiny drilled hole in the center to thread a string through it. To play the game, you and your opponent would take turns placing the gallito on the sand and swing it in a sweeping arc to crack the opponents gallito. I remember being very fun, but the inside of the algarroba seed pod was very stinky. Sadly, kids don't play it or know about it anymore.
