How are you?

In America it’s very common when walking by a complete stranger to say something like “Hey, how are you?” or “How’s it going?” But, in actuality, we don’t care how that person is doing. It’s a way of saying hello. We usually don’t even stop to get a response, we just keep moving on with our day. I find it odd, yet, I’m very guilty of it, hahaha.
