Durga Puja

Durga Puja is a major annual Hindu festival celebrating the goddess Durga's victory over the demon king Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. Celebrated in September or October, it is a ten-day event marked by large-scale installations called pandals, public performances, and community gatherings. The festival is particularly significant for the Bengali community and involves elaborate rituals, including the worship of Goddess Durga and her children, followed by the immersion of her idol in a river on the final day, Vijaya Dashami.
