Fin de año en Ecuador

In Ecuador, we bid farewell to the year in style by burning a handmade effigy that symbolizes the end of the year. Adding to this tradition, men dress up as women, symbolizing the widow of the old year represented by the effigy, and take to the streets to dance, beg for money, and buy liquor. New Year's Eve is a beautiful holiday in my country, spent with family, friends, and neighbors dancing and drinking until dawn.
