Lusatian Serbs/Sorbs
In eastern Germany there is a region called Lusatia and has been the historical home of the Sorbs, who are an indigenous West Slavic ethnic group that has it's own languages, culture, traditions and mythology. I am not Sorbian, but my parents live in Upper Lusatia and I'm learning the Upper Sorbian language. It is something that interests me a great deal and I have a friend, who speaks it as well. I don't want the Sorbian languages to disappear, that would be a great loss, which is why I'm determined to learn it.
