Latvian Song and Dance festival

It's a big part of our national identity - the nation that sings! The event takes place since year 1873. and has happened 27 times until now. It happens every 5 years. The event lasts for a week, with a parade and concerts, and a grand choir concert at the end with more than 30 000 singers on stage at once! There is a separate festival for kids. I have participated in both many times as I play a traditional instrument and used to sing in a childrens choir.
