Karneval in Deutschland

If I had to talk about one tradition it would definetely be carnival. Although it stems from the christian fasting period as seperate period of time where people celebrate and enjoy life before starting their fast it was also fueled by the hatred against the french colonizers stationed in the Rhineland. To mock their uniforms people dressed up as them which over the years led to the street carnival celebrated in Germany early in the year. Alhough stressful I enjoy it the many dances I have with my group as well as the parades we join every year.
