Caretos

My favourite tradition from my country are the "Caretos". The Caretos are a tradition from the nothern part of Portugal that lasts through the 3 days of Carnaval. During these days, these "tricksters" run around the village, hitting women with the bells they carry around their waist, through a lateral movement of their hips to promote fertility and healthy crops.They were even present in the Osaka Expo 2025 https://www.diariodetrasosmontes.com/noticia/caretos-de-podence-encantam-japao-na-expo-osaka
